- Ideal for feeding raw or dry white sugar during early and mid-winter.
- Raw sugar is preferred as it has some moisture for bees to work and consume.
- If using dry white sugar, adding a small damp sponge to the top feeder provides additional moisture for the bees.
- In late winter/early spring, feeding a heavy syrup (2 kg of white sugar to 1 liter of water) is recommended.
- Use the chimney cap to restrict bees and prevent them from accessing the bulk of the liquid during syrup feeding.
